Description
The Surgical Technologist performs sterile preparation and setup for operating-room procedures, assists the surgeon with suctioning, retractors, skin closure, suturing, and wound irrigation, circulates under RN supervision, and supports patient care and case turnover. The role also handles instrument and equipment maintenance, specimen transfer, infection-control practices, documentation, and post-procedure cleanup. A high school diploma or GED, CST certification, and 6 months to 2 years of active experience are required; an associate degree in Surgical Technology is preferred.
