Description
RIFT is hiring a CFD Intern to transition its Iron Fuel boiler-system simulations from Ansys Fluent to OpenFOAM. The role involves transferring CFD simulations, implementing turbulence and volumetric reaction models, converting C UDFs to C++, configuring boundary conditions and post-processing, validating combustion models, investigating numerical schemes and solver settings, and comparing Fluent and OpenFOAM accuracy and computation time. Candidates should be pursuing an HBO- or WO-level degree in a relevant engineering or computational field, have an affinity for CFD and numerical simulations, and work analytically and independently. The internship provides guidance from experienced engineers, contributes to Iron Fuel technology development, and results in a working OpenFOAM environment, transition documentation, a validation comparison, and a graduation thesis or final report.
