Description
Ochsner Health is hiring a hospital chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, staff, and visitors on assigned units and as needed throughout the facility. The role supports patients and families during crises and death, assists with end-of-life decisions, coordinates interfaith rituals, maintains interdisciplinary relationships, mentors new spiritual care staff or CPE students, and performs related duties. Required qualifications include a master’s degree in Divinity or equivalency, four units of Clinical Pastoral Education, and one year of interfaith and culturally competent spiritual care experience in healthcare; board certification and ordination or ecclesiastical endorsement are preferred. The position may involve exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
