Description

CACI is hiring a Chief Data Engineer to lead the technical implementation of an enterprise data platform for the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General. The role will architect and operate cloud-based data pipelines, migrate legacy ETL systems to Azure or equivalent cloud-native solutions, establish secure data integration patterns, ensure data quality and governance, and lead data engineering teams supporting investigative, audit, and oversight analytics. The position requires a bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience, with a proposed salary range of $114,600 to $252,100.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree; equivalencies include a master's degree plus 12 years, 21 years with no degree, or an associate's degree plus 17 years.
Required Previous Experiences: 15 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, software engineering, or a related field.
Experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale data integration and ETL/ELT solutions and leading data engineering teams.
Deep expertise in cloud data engineering using Azure or equivalent AWS/GCP platforms.
Extensive hands-on experience developing data pipelines with Python, SQL, PySpark, and modern data integration frameworks, including lakehouse and Delta Lake architectures.
Strong background in data architecture, data modeling, data quality, performance optimization, and operationalizing production data pipelines at scale.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Data Quality, or other legacy ETL platforms and successful migration to cloud-native solutions.
Hands-on experience with DHS data fabric, Delta Sharing, or federal data-sharing mechanisms in secure government cloud environments.
Background in federal government, law enforcement, investigative, or national security data environments with understanding of sensitive data handling, data governance, and compliance requirements.
