Description

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, preservation, readiness, troubleshooting, repairs, fueling, pollution control, liquid loading, records, procurement, and inventory control of a vessel’s machinery and equipment. The role includes leading the engineering watch, coordinating contractors and shore teams, conducting hazard assessments, responding to emergencies, supervising junior engineers, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and supporting dry-dock and vessel surveys. The position is fully on-site at 10 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver, and requires a valid Transport Canada marine engineering certificate, at least five years of engineering-officer experience on a similar vessel, and the ability to maintain marine diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems. The hourly rate starts at $66.91.
