Amazon is hiring a Data Center Chief Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life-safety equipment in AWS data centers. The role manages preventive and corrective maintenance, emergency response, root-cause analysis, large-scale projects, vendor coordination, training, safety compliance, and availability reporting. It is based in the Cape Town area with possible travel to other EMEA locations and requires at least three years of vendor management experience, four years of data center or critical-environment experience, five years of data center engineering or operations experience, and a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering.
