Description
The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector is hiring a Chief of Operations – Motor Vehicle Services to lead the strategic direction, operational performance, modernization, and customer experience of motor vehicle services across 16 branch locations and specialized programs. The role oversees regional administrators and special services operations, manages commercial vehicle registration and title processing, optimizes staffing and resources, standardizes workflows, drives Lean and Six Sigma improvements, modernizes technology and training, and ensures compliance. It requires a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, at least 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience including senior executive or regional leadership, and experience with multi-site operations, organizational transformation, standardized procedures, performance management, workforce development, and digital transformation. The position is primarily office-based with site visits, occasional overnight travel, and flexibility for evening, weekend, and occasional overnight work.
