The CYP Assistant supports children and youth in a Department of Defense child and youth program by developing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, supervising participants, maintaining safe indoor and outdoor environments, communicating with parents and employees, documenting developmental progress, and supporting program compliance. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, child and youth development knowledge, and either six months of relevant experience for the intermediate level or one year of experience for the target level, along with a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of required training.
