Description
The Child Development Teacher leads infant, toddler, or preschool children in a classroom under the supervision of a Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor. The role develops lesson plans, screens and assesses children, creates individualized educational plans, maintains health and safety routines, documents child progress, conducts home visits and parent conferences, and supports families and community resources. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s or associate degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, a Child Development Teacher Permit or ability to obtain one within 90 days, at least one year of successful child development center teaching experience, pediatric first aid and CPR certification, and compliance with state and county childcare licensing requirements.
