Description
The Children’s Programmer facilitates age-appropriate educational and recreational programs for children and youth in a gender-based violence shelter, supporting their social and emotional development through play, storytelling, creative arts, sensory play, and inquiry-based learning. The role provides direct support, individualized attention, safety, de-escalation, documentation, program preparation, and collaboration with staff, while maintaining trauma-informed, inclusive, and culturally responsive practices. It is a full-time Schedule B position paying $32.43, requiring relevant education or experience, 2–3 years of child and youth program experience, trauma-informed care knowledge, CPR Level C and First Aid certifications, and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
