Description
The Class Aide with Disability Responsibilities provides one-on-one assistance to children with special needs in a Head Start classroom, supporting activities such as classroom work, bathroom use, mealtimes, playground time, and field trips. The role works alongside teachers and teacher aides, communicates with parents, maintains emergency supplies and communication systems, participates in required training, and follows child safety and abuse-reporting procedures. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of child development and Head Start practices, physical ability to lift 55 pounds and perform repetitive bending, kneeling, squatting, and standing, and successful background and medical screenings.
