Description

Bestgate Engineering is hiring an Automated Test Engineer to validate functional enhancements and support the modernization of authoring and dissemination tools for a large system. The role involves designing, developing, executing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated UI and API test suites using Cypress, JavaScript, TypeScript, RESTful microservices, and related QA practices within an Agile environment. The position requires a TS/SCI with Poly security clearance, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and offers up to two days of telework. The stated salary range is $130,000–$200,000.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or four years of additional test engineering or related experience in lieu of the degree.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 4 years of experience as a Test Engineer in test engineering or integration of modern hardware and software systems.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated UI and API tests using Cypress.
Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript for automated test script development.
Experience testing modern web applications.
Experience testing RESTful microservices and APIs.
Experience working within Agile software development environments.
Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Experience using Git and version control systems.
Experience analyzing test results, troubleshooting failures, documenting defects, and reporting testing metrics.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD.
Experience with Amazon Web Services and cloud-based architectures and deployments.
Basic understanding of Docker/containerization and consistent test environments.
Familiarity with government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
Experience supporting the modernization of authoring, reporting, dissemination, or similar enterprise systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD.
Experience with Amazon Web Services and cloud-based architectures and deployments.
