Description
The Client Advocate provides direct support to GMHC clients by coordinating healthcare, mental health, substance use, housing, and social service resources; assisting with public benefits applications; monitoring service engagement; responding to crises; documenting interactions in AWARDS; and collaborating with internal and external partners. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, bilingual English-Spanish fluency, 1–2 years of direct client-service experience, knowledge of public benefits and community services, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-tracking systems. It is a hybrid position with in-office duties, remote work as needed, and frequent travel in Manhattan.
