The Clinical Coordinator is an experienced Registered Nurse who provides direct patient care while coordinating unit staffing, patient flow, resource utilization, interdisciplinary care, quality improvement, safety, and staff development on a shift basis. The role also directs staff nurses and support personnel, communicates with patients and families, anticipates staffing needs, and recommends operational improvements. Required qualifications include a baccalaureate nursing degree, at least two years of clinical specialty experience, Illinois Registered Nurse registration, CPR–Basic Life Support, and Magnet certification or specialty certification depending on the employer.
