Description
The Medical Technologist performs complex laboratory tests, applies medical-technology principles to produce reliable diagnostic results, and supports physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role also trains laboratory personnel, assists the laboratory administrative director with validation, quality control, performance improvement, policy and procedure maintenance, and nursing and physician support, and may supervise a licensed laboratory section or serve as backup administrative director. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, Florida clinical laboratory technologist licensure, at least five years of full-time technical experience, BLS certification, strong communication and computer skills, and proficiency with an electronic health record system.
