The Patient Care Technician works as part of a patient care delivery team, performing direct and indirect clinical care activities such as vital signs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, patient preparation, charting, and safe patient transport. The role also handles appointment scheduling, urgent referrals, forms, faxes, and clinical-care-team communications.
