Description

Amazon Web Services is hiring a Cloud Support Engineer to support networking services such as Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, Route 53, and VPC. The role involves solving customer cases through telephone, email, and web or live chat; applying advanced troubleshooting techniques; partnering with engineering teams; coaching new hires; developing training; and contributing to process improvement. The position is based in Sydney or Melbourne and may use a flexible hybrid work model.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Required Previous Experiences: Experience with networking and troubleshooting, including HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, routing and switching, and load balancing
Preferred Qualifications: Experience configuring virtual server environments
Experience configuring and supporting networking devices such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, SonicWALL, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto
Experience managing full application stacks from the operating system through custom applications
Experience configuring software-based load balancing solutions
Experience with end-to-end application monitoring, tracing, and alerting using CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools
Understanding of security best practices
Understanding of distributed computing environments and methodologies
Knowledge of domain transfers, records, and DNS security
Experience troubleshooting networking issues with tools such as traceroute, mtr, ping, iperf, dig/nslookup, cURL, tcpdump, and Wireshark
Experience monitoring IT services
