Description
The Medication Aide administers routine medications to residents according to physician and resident service plans, documents care, monitors resident health and safety, responds to emergencies, and provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living. The role also supports residents with oxygen and other medical needs, promotes socialization, maintains a safe environment, and follows confidentiality and safety procedures. Required qualifications include a Certified Medication Aide certificate or state-required medication pass certificate, basic first aid training, a high school diploma or GED, experience working with older adults, and experience with medication administration. Preferred experience is in senior living.
