Description
Rochester Precision Optics is hiring a CNC Operator 1 to run CNC mills and lathes in a low-mix, high-volume machine shop. The role involves loading and unloading materials, operating machines safely, monitoring production and quality, making authorized basic adjustments, inspecting parts with standard measuring tools, completing documentation, and reporting issues. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, prior CNC experience, blueprint-reading ability, familiarity with inspection tools, and basic machining knowledge. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with new hires completing 4–6 weeks of first-shift training before transitioning to the second shift; the role includes a 5% shift differential and offers health, dental, vision, HSA, life insurance, retirement matching, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
