The City of Savannah is hiring a Code Compliance Officer Trainee to enforce local ordinances covering property maintenance, zoning, residential parking, sanitation, tourism, short-term vacation rentals, vehicles for hire, and towing operators. The role includes on-site inspections, patrols, issuing correction notices and parking tickets, subpoenas, property-owner research, violation photography, towing processing, recordkeeping, and neighborhood association presentations. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, relevant experience or equivalent education and training, a valid driver's license, and the ability to walk several blocks daily; IPMC certification must be obtained within one year, while IZC is optional. The position is based at 6 Interchange Court in Savannah, Georgia, with 8 AM to 5 PM rotating weekend-off hours.
