Description
The Merced County Code Enforcement Officer I and II recruitment seeks candidates to investigate complaints and violations involving land use, illegal operations, and zoning compliance; conduct follow-up inspections; issue notices, citations, and permit recommendations; advise the public; maintain records; and cooperate with other departments. The role requires field investigations, enforcement action, substantial public contact, regular attendance, and the ability to work in varied weather and physical conditions. Level I requires two years of progressively responsible enforcement experience and 60 semester units in a relevant field, while Level II requires comparable experience and the same education. A valid California driver's license and Penal Code 832 certification or equivalent are required.
