Description
The Coder Abstractor is responsible for charge capture and coding of professional charges across the Munson healthcare system. The role verifies medical documentation, assigns ICD-9/10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes and modifiers, enters charges, resolves coding discrepancies, supports billing compliance, and serves as a resource for physicians, office management, and central billing staff. The position is fully remote and requires an associate’s degree in Health Record Technology or a related healthcare field plus professional coding experience, along with CPC, RHIT, or RHIA credentialing within 18 months of employment.
