Description
The Colossus Site Reliability Engineer will manage low-level filesystems supporting Google’s storage systems, improving reliability, scalability, efficiency, and security across the service lifecycle. The role involves system design, automation, capacity planning, launch reviews, technical direction, and collaboration with developers across storage systems. It requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, 3 years leading projects, and 3 years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems; preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, technical leadership experience, and distributed storage experience. Compensation is $207,000–$300,000 USD plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
