The role involves inspecting construction projects before, during, and after completion, issuing permits and enforcement notices, communicating findings to homeowners and contractors, mentoring inspection staff, providing technical guidance, and staying current with building and safety standards. Candidates must hold ICC certifications in commercial and residential building inspection plus electrical, mechanical, or plumbing inspection, have at least five years of municipal inspection experience, and be able to perform fieldwork and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
