Description
The Optical Commodity Manager will manage and optimize the optical supplier base, lead material-cost reduction through negotiation, VAVE, sourcing, and bidding, define commodity strategies, negotiate VMI programs and business contracts, support global optical-component sourcing, bridge design teams and suppliers, conduct supplier business reviews and audits, and manage supplier partnerships and risk. The role requires a BS degree or higher, at least eight years of fiber-optics industrial-product commodity-management experience, knowledge of optical materials and manufacturing, strong negotiation and presentation skills, English communication ability, frequent travel to and from China, initiative, and business-environment awareness.
