Description
The Communicable Disease - Program Manager I, Regular, (1.0 FTE) will serve as the primary subject matter expert for disease investigation and communicable diseases of public health importance in Pierce County. The role leads program operations, supervises and mentors staff, manages budgets and contracts, oversees grants and interagency agreements, develops public health policies and quality-improvement initiatives, and represents the department with community, local, state, and federal partners. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, three years of public health program management experience, three years supervising or leading teams, and five years of public health or community health experience; it is performed almost exclusively indoors with some afterhours, weekend, and local or regional travel.
