Description
The Telecommunication Representative serves as a customer-facing communication gateway for Independence Health System Health, handling internal and external calls, screening and routing messages, processing patient and physician communications, documenting emergency situations, directing visitors, and maintaining paging and telephony systems. The role also trains and mentors new employees, reviews call logs and department processes, and supports emergency-code procedures. It requires a high school diploma or GED, customer-service experience, strong communication and organizational skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and an Act 34-PA criminal record check; hospital switchboard experience and medical terminology knowledge are preferred. The position may rotate shifts, require standby or on-call work, involve local travel between health-system locations, and include a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
