Description

JHU is seeking a Community Health Worker to recruit, enroll, and retain Korean American older adults with hearing loss and their care partners within Korean ethnic churches in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. The role involves conducting hearing screenings, communicating with the study team, and delivering the K-HEARS program. The ideal candidate will have strong outreach skills, knowledge of the Korean community, and a commitment of 6-12 months.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
Required Previous Experiences: Six months of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills (English and Korean).
Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
Motivated and self-directed with ability to work collaboratively with other study staff.
Own transportation and comfort working in the field, especially with older adults with hearing impairment and their care partners.
Experience working with and/or is from the target immigrant community.
Recommendation from participating ethnic church in the target area.
Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Willingness to undergo training as a community health worker.
Familiarity with clinical studies or trials and IRB procedures.
