Description
The Construction Carpenter performs skilled residential and light commercial carpentry, including rough and finished carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, repair, and new construction. The role also involves minor plumbing, welding, and electrical work; blueprint interpretation; tool and material use; scaffolding; inspections; cost estimates; apprentice training; and travel to Arctic Slope villages. It is a full-time seasonal position with six 10-hour workdays, pays $48.80 per hour depending on experience, and requires a high school diploma or GED, five years of carpentry experience, an Alaska driver's license, and comfort traveling by small aircraft.
