Description
The Fiber Splicing Technician installs, maintains, and repairs fiber optic cables and equipment for high-speed data networks. Responsibilities include installing FTTH cable, conduits, and demarcation enclosures; performing fusion or mechanical splicing; testing connectivity with OTDRs, power meters, and light sources; troubleshooting outages; repairing damaged infrastructure; reading schematics; and maintaining splice, test, and network records. The role requires a valid driver’s license, outdoor work in all weather, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently, with some overtime, weekend, holiday, and on-call work. Compensation is $22.00–$26.00 per hour based on experience.
