Description
The role inspects roadway and bridge construction work, materials, components, and finished projects for compliance with plans, specifications, standards, and safety codes. Responsibilities include documenting contractor progress, researching contract requirements, reviewing pay applications, coordinating quality-assurance testing, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and following safety procedures. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, basic computer and mathematical skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work; HCMTCB Materials Sampling and Testing Certification and Site Manager knowledge are preferred. The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and variable extended hours.
