Description
The Construction Supervisor coordinates, reviews, and evaluates Engineering Technicians and Construction Coordinators on contract construction involving water pipelines, underground facilities, tanks, reservoirs, pump stations, buildings, and other capital improvements. The role approves construction and materials, can stop or reject nonconforming work, reviews progress and cost estimates, maintains construction records, and liaises with public agencies. It requires knowledge of construction methods, materials, testing, surveying, safety standards, engineering drawings, and calculations, along with strong communication skills. Candidates need four years of water-construction experience or an associate degree with two years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, plus a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
