Description
The Consumer Loan Officer examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of consumer loan applications. Responsibilities include interviewing applicants, gathering credit and background information, analyzing financial and credit status, resolving application uncertainties, approving loans within specified limits or referring them to a loan committee, preparing loan packages, negotiating loan terms, ensuring accurate loan agreements, facilitating closing and funding, identifying loan markets, and cross-selling bank products. The role requires a bachelor's degree and one to two years of related experience or training, or five years of lending experience in lieu of a degree, along with spreadsheet and word-processing skills.
