Description
SLAC is hiring a Control and Interlock Systems Engineer to develop, design, implement, commission, troubleshoot, and improve machine-protection interlock and distributed control systems for the Linac Coherent Light Source. The role focuses on Beckhoff TwinCAT PLCs, EPICS integration, industrial networking, controls architectures, and collaboration with operations, engineering, scientific, vendor, and project teams. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline and at least two years of relevant experience are required; experience with PLC-based interlock systems, IEC 61131-3 Structured Text, industrial networking, EPICS, and controls troubleshooting is specified, with additional preferred experience.
