Description

AWS is hiring a Controls Engineer to support and improve building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in data centers. The role covers troubleshooting, project management, commissioning, controls logic and graphical interface development, vendor and procurement coordination, service contract management, and on-site stakeholder support. Candidates must be United States citizens, have relevant data center or industrial controls experience, and may obtain a TS/SCI security clearance after hire if eligible. The position is based in Herndon, Virginia, with a base salary of 139,300 to 208,000 USD annually.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 15+ years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Previous Experiences: Experience constructing data center delivery, mission-critical facilities, or equivalent industrial or manufacturing facility builds.
10+ years of industrial controls experience in a critical environment.
9+ years of general project or vendor management experience associated with construction and project execution.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience constructing electrical engineering systems, large-scale power distribution or generation gear, and mechanical engineering systems including cooling systems.
Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems.
Experience using MQTT, BACnet, or MODBUS.
Understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate difficult situations.
Experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Prior AWS or Amazon experience.
4+ years of military service.
