LAPORTE is hiring a full-time Intermediate Controls Engineer for a hybrid role in Rochester, New York. The position leads and supports automation project design, control-panel and network specifications, construction packages, client coordination, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, site surveys, and installation support across pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. The role requires a relevant bachelor’s degree, 2–6 years of control-systems or consulting-design experience, proficiency with Rockwell Automation software, AutoCAD, and relevant electrical and control-systems standards, and expects 20–40% travel.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or electrical engineering technology
Required Previous Experiences: 2–6 years of experience in control systems, manufacturing, or consulting-design environments, including system commissioning
Hands-on experience surveying existing control installations and preparing as-built conditions
Experience surveying and planning control-systems projects without manager support
Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation software for PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development
Preferred Qualifications: Experience commissioning systems as a lead
