Description
The Building Automation Technician provides programming, technical checkout, owner training, and subcontractor coordination for building automation projects. The role configures and calibrates end devices, creates and programs site databases, troubleshoots communication links and local area networks, diagnoses BAS and system problems, maintains project documentation, and provides remote and on-site customer support. It requires HVAC, computer science, or related education or equivalent experience, field experience, knowledge of BACnet, LonTalk, and Modbus, networking skills, a valid driver's license, and EPA certification. The position involves travel, occasional overnight travel, overtime, weekends, and physically demanding work in mechanical rooms and outdoor conditions.
