Description
The Specialty Feed Operator I processes specialty feed streams that cannot be processed in their received state, feeding drums, totes, and cylinders into an incinerator through direct-inject nozzles and documenting items for final destruction and tracking. The role also supports mechanical and contractor maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing feed-line equipment, preparing equipment for start-up and shutdown, verifying chemical compatibility, using nitrogen and flushing chemicals, and operating gloveboxes and toteboxes. A high school diploma or GED, hazardous-waste operator training, and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification are required; one to two years of process operations experience and six months of heavy equipment operations are preferred.
