Description
The Deputy Director, Chief Operating Officer will manage the day-to-day operations of Montgomery County’s Department of General Services, including facilities management, fleet management, human capital, contract services, print and mail services, records management, and ADA compliance. The role oversees a $230 million operating budget and a portion of a $2.25 billion capital budget, directs 448 employees, coordinates emergency response across more than 400 county facilities, advises elected officials, and represents the department in collective bargaining. The position requires seven years of progressively responsible experience in local and state government, procurement, contract administration, facility and fleet management, with four years in executive or management capacity, and a master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
