Description
The Cook works in a healthcare facility’s Food Service department, preparing and cooking meals for residents, employees, and visitors according to recipes, menus, physician-prescribed diets, sanitary regulations, and scheduled mealtimes. The role also includes cleaning and caring for dietary equipment, preventing food waste, supporting and directing food service staff when supervisors are absent, maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality, participating in emergency and safety procedures, completing required training and health screenings, and working flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, on-call periods, and emergency call-backs.
