The role prepares, cooks, and presents meals according to menus and portion-control procedures, plans food production, follows recipes and special-diet orders, operates kitchen equipment safely, maintains sanitation and food-production standards, and cleans kitchen equipment and utensils. A high school diploma or equivalent and age of 18 or older are required; one year of dining-services experience in a medical facility and culinary school training are preferred.
