The Cook prepares food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure quality food service, reviews menus before preparation, prepares timely meals and snacks following food safety guidelines, and helps plan regular and special diet menus prescribed by physicians and dieticians. The role requires at least a State Food Service Sanitation certification, with one year of dietary or food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or similar medical setting preferred but not required.
