Description

The Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention is hiring one full-time Cook/Baker II to supervise and schedule kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, menus, inventory, sanitation, equipment, and child nutrition programs, and resolve food-service issues in a secure detention facility. The position may be assigned primarily to one of three facilities—King County Correctional Facility in Downtown Seattle, Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, or Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle—and may rotate among them. Applicants must be at least 21 years old by the closing date, hold a Food Handler's Permit, obtain ServSafe certification within six months, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Washington State driver's license, and at least 24 months of lead or supervisory experience in institutional food service.
