Description

The Food Preparation Cook performs simple cooking and food preparation in a cafeteria or mess setting, including preparing hot cereals, soups, sauces, gravies, and sandwich fillings; assembling and replenishing a salad bar; operating kitchen equipment; cleaning work areas; and following sanitation and storage procedures. The position is located at Pershing Community Center on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, requires a one-year probationary period, background and medical checks, food-safety training, and the ability to work varying shifts and lift up to 40 pounds. Applicants must have experience preparing foods and cooking simple foods in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess, while six months or more of cooking experience in a dining establishment is highly preferred.
