Description
The Coordinating Architect reports to the Executive Director of Capital Planning and Construction and oversees planning and design staff, consultants, and in-house architectural work for Chicago Public Schools capital projects. The role manages project schedules, cost estimates, design compliance, site visits, city and zoning matters, ADA standards, furniture contracts, data systems, and project reports. It requires an architecture or related bachelor’s degree, Illinois R.A. registration, at least five years of major architectural project experience, three years supervising architectural work, Chicago and commercial, industrial, and educational project experience, and LEED experience. The position requires district travel, reliable transportation, and extended hours and weekend work during construction seasons.
