Description
The Coord, SPD MDC Shift serves as the Sterile Processing department's lead technical resource and operational coordinator during assigned evening shifts. The role coordinates decontamination, sterilization, high-level disinfection, storage, distribution, instrument traceability, workflow, specialty equipment, and communication with operating rooms, clinical departments, vendors, and other stakeholders. It provides hands-on technical guidance, resolves operational issues, supports staff learning, and maintains safe and compliant processing operations, without responsibility for performance evaluations, disciplinary action, scheduling, or hiring.
