Description

The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program Coordinator supports Salt Lake Community College’s TRIO SSS program by coordinating student outreach, recruitment, onboarding, events, workshops, peer leaders, tutoring, communications, records, reporting, and referrals to academic, financial, career, transfer, and basic-needs resources. The role works with TRIO SSS Advisors, campus departments, and community partners to promote student engagement, retention, transfer, and equity while maintaining confidentiality and program documentation.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Associate degree or higher
Required Previous Experiences: Two years of professional experience in education, student services, event coordination, communications, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, student affairs, counseling, social work, human services, business administration, or a related field
Higher education experience in student support, advising, retention, access, or student services
TRIO or similar college-access program experience
Experience supporting first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities
Experience coordinating student programs, workshops, events, orientations, and educational activities
Student outreach, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement experience
Knowledge of academic advising, transfer, financial aid, scholarships, tutoring, and student-support resources
Experience maintaining confidential student records and program documentation
Experience with higher education technology and student information systems
Experience with data collection, reporting, program assessment, and grant compliance
Experience supervising, training, or coordinating peer leaders, tutors, student employees, or volunteers
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, administrators, community organizations, and campus partners
Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively
Commitment to student access, retention, persistence, transfer, graduation, and equity
Experience developing presentations, workshops, outreach materials, newsletters, and social media content
Bilingual or multilingual skills
