Description
The Inmate Custody Officer reports to a designated sergeant and is responsible for the custody, discipline, security, supervision, and recordkeeping of inmates at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meridian, Mississippi. The role includes searching for contraband, monitoring inmate areas, maintaining accountability for staff, inmates, and property, and working overtime when directed. A Mississippi or Alabama driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required, while a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required; annual in-service training is also required.
