Description
The Corrections Counselor conducts initial assessments of incarcerated individuals, develops and periodically reviews treatment plans, facilitates social and rehabilitative programs, prepares service paperwork, counsels individuals on adjustment, character, and employment issues, and coordinates community and governmental services for reintegration. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, knowledge of counseling and related fields, notary certification, and the ability to work in a controlled correctional environment; social work, sociology, criminology, or psychology is preferred.
