Description
The Berks County Jail System is hiring a first-line correctional supervisor to oversee approximately 40 correctional officers per shift and maintain physical security and daily operations in a secure jail. The role includes supervising and evaluating officers, managing staffing and schedules, conducting inmate counts and roll calls, overseeing searches and emergency responses, investigating misconduct, preparing reports, training probationary staff, and performing correctional officer duties. It requires on-site work, physical readiness, a high school diploma or GED plus equivalent criminal justice education, at least one year of correctional officer experience, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and the ability to operate security equipment and make decisions in high-risk situations.
